Power Quality Assessment in a Real Microgrid-Statistical Assessment of Different Long-Term Working Conditions

Power quality (PQ) becomes a more and pressing issue for the operation stability of power systems with renewable energy sources. An important aspect PQ monitoring distribution networks is to compare indicators in different operating conditions. This paper evaluates impact microgrid implementation real network on at point common coupling an LV network. The study includes classical assessment long-term parameters according EN 50160 standard, such as nominal frequency deviations, voltage RMS variations, fluctuations (represented by flicker severity), unbalance total harmonic distortion. evaluation extended statistical based cluster analysis. case contains 5 weeks observation results obtained two working conditions system: before after implementing microgrid. allows establishing general conclusions regarding interconnection order not exceed limits considering influence photovoltaic generation parameters.
